Abstract

In this paper, the characteristic of active surface adjustment of deformed parabolic reflector antenna is analyzed. To guarantee the performance of large reflector antennas such as the gain and boresight, which can be obtained by utilizing the electromechanical coupling model, and satisfy them simultaneously, research of active surface adjustment to a brand new parabolic reflector as target surface has been done. Based on the initial position of actuators and the relationship between adjusting points and target points, a novel mathematical model and a program that calculate directly for actuators' movements have been developed for guiding the active surface adjustment of large reflector antennas. In the end, this adjustment method is applied to 8m reflector antenna, in which only considering the gravity deformation of the antenna. Result shows that the adjustment method is more efficient in adjusting the surface and improving the working performance.
