Abstract

The features of a first-order phase transition at variable pressure in mixed matter which indicated the non-linear phase structure have been discussed. The non-linear phase structure leads to the imbalance of the two phases during the phase transition under certain conditions. We present self-consistent thermodynamics analysis for this novel nonequilibrium process. The results show that it is quite different from the case of first-order phase transition in the textbook.
