Abstract | In this paper, a Quad-Ridged Flared Horn (QRFH) developed for the 25m radio telescope in Nanshan is introduced, operating from 1GHz to 6 GHz. Firstly, the modes in the quad-ridged waveguide with respect to its radius is studied. Then the profile of the ridges is modeled by discrete points and optimized for efficiency. The simulated results show that the return loss is better than -10 dB across the whole band. And the estimated aperture efficiency when the QRFH is used to illuminate the 25m radio telescope (mathrm{f}/mathrm{D}=0.3) is above 50%. 2019 IEEE. |
