AbstractThe beam deviation factor (BDF) formula is not suitable for estimating the beam deviation for the shaped dual-reflector antenna. The purpose of this paper is to characterize the beam squint with displaced subreflector and derive generalized formulas to predict the squint angles for the shaped dual-reflector antennas. The shaped dual-reflector antennas configuration is described by the standard discrete parabola set, and the Ruze BDF formula is modified. Then the squint angles can be estimated, the beam boresight pointing offset can be corrected by correcting the pointing model in real time as the subreflector motion. 2019 IEEE.
