AbstractA flux density variation event in PSR B0809+74 over some 11 hours is presented. This event was discovered during our routine monitoring of pulsars at 327 MHz using the 25-m radio telescope of Urumqi Astronomical Observatory. The observed time scale of variation is rather different from both the time scales of diffractive and refractive interstellar scintillation. This event may be due to a new propagation effect.
